E kōkiri tahi ana a Ngāti Rangi i ngā kaupapa hei oranga mō te katoa, kia rapu ai i te mea ngaro. E te iwi e, nau mai, haere mai rā.

As part of the Ngāti Rangi 2035 – Te Ara ki te Moungaroa Strategic Plan, we are holding Ngāti Rangi Cultural Revitalisation Wānanga to hear the cultural aspirations of the iwi, share cultural knowledge and scope the need of cultural revitalisation.

When: 4-6 August 2017
Where: Maungārongo Marae, Ohakune
There will be a whakaeke on Friday 4 August, 4pm.

You might be asking what is cultural revitalisation, it can be as wide as:

- Te Reo Māori and Tikanga

- Art: whakairo, raranga, whatu, tukutuku and other expressions

- Pūrākau and its artistic expression

- Mau rākau

- Astronomy and waka building

- Kai: gardening, hunting and fishing

- and anything else that helps us be Ngāti Rangi and Whanganui.

The three focus areas for this wānanga are; Whakarauora Reo Māori (Māori Language Revitalisation), Ngā Kōrero Tuku Iho (History, Archives, Traditional and Contemporary Arts) and Te Tātakitanga (Leadership Development and Rangatahi Aspirations).

Throughout the wānanga, there will be workshops facilitated on the focus areas and evening wānanga sessions to discuss our Ngāti Rangi Cultural Aspirations. We encourage you to bring any research, information, photos, recordings you may wish to share at the wānanga.
To register, please RSVP to Whetu Moataane on (06) 385 9500 or 0800 NRANGI or email events@ngatirangi.com.

We are wanting to gather the Stats and Stories so that we can then start the creation of the solutions for Ngati Rangi, both the hau kāinga and us that live away from home. If you have any research that you are willing to share as part of this research please contact Whetu Moataane at the Ngati Rangi office on events@ngatirangi.com

If you are unable to make the first in this series of wānanga, over the coming months we'll be uploading more content and information to this page - Ngā mihi
